Ambode, Fashola Arrive Russia Today Ahead Of Nigeria’s First Match.

Governor Ambode, Fashola, and other dignitaries are to arrive Russia today.

The president of the Federal republic of Nigeria; Mohammadu Buhari, has sent some delegates to represent him at the on-going, Fifa 2018 World Cup tournament taking place in Russia. The dignitaries in this envoy include; Governor of Lagos state; His excellency,Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, former governor of Lagos state and current Minister of Works,Power and Steel; Babatunde Raji Fashola and Youth and Sports Minister,Solomon Dalung amongst others. Their flight was scheduled for today Friday, June 15.
They are to be welcomed by Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation; His Excellency Professor Steve Davies Ugbah, President of the Nigeria Football Federation; Amaju Melvin Pinnick, NFF Vice Presidents; Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and the Consul-General in the Nigerian Embassy, Nura Bello Dankadai. The super eagles will make their first appearance on the field in a match with Croatia, on Saturday June 16, 2018, by 8:00pm WAT at Kaliningrad Stadium.
The opening match was between the host country, Russia and Arab country, Saudi Arabia, who were both duly supported by their respective presidents at the venue of the game. The match ended in favor of the host country, Russia, as they beat their foreign counterparts with 5 goals to Nil.
