The Igbimo rice which is peculiar to the Ekiti people is one food that stands out because of its nutritional value and function in the body.
In an exclusive interview with KOKO TV rice farmer, Opeyemi breaks down the process of how rice is planted and harvested in Ekiti State.

He revealed that most of the time before the grain is planted the land is cleared and children are called to deposit the grains in the pockets dug already on the land. One major challenge farmers face is bird disturbance because so far, the government has not been able to tackle this issues.

He further stated that this grain takes just 3 months to mature and it is a lucrative for business because unlike like yam and cocoa, you get to make money from selling it every 3 months. Watch the interview below;
