Senate President Godswill Akpabio has led some lawmakers to pay a congratulatory visit to President Bola Tinubu on his victory at the Supreme Court.
Recall that presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obiof the Labour Party (LP), were at the Supreme Court to challenge the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal for claiming that Tinubu won the keenly contested election.
The apex court, however, on Thursday upheld the lower court’s ruling after dismissing all petitions filed by Obi and Atiku respectively.
Following the verdict, Akpabio, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, and some senators visited President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Saturday.
