Akinwunmi Ambode: Dear Royal Fathers, Continue To Address Anti-Social Behaviour In Your Communities

Akinwunmi Ambode has a message for the royal fathers!

The Lagos State Governor urged traditional rulers in the state to peace and security in their communities while speaking at the Lagos House, Ikeja, where he inaugurated the newly constituted Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs on Monday (May 21). “Our government has immense regard for our royal fathers and we always welcome advice from them in order to maintain social harmony and ensure peaceful coexistence,” said Ambode, adding that, “I call on our royal fathers to continue to address anti-social behaviour in their communities. The most important ingredient for development in the state is peace and security and you all have an important role to play in this.”

Akinwunmi Ambode who was a civil servant for 27 years assumed office as Governor of Lagos State on May 29, 2015. The new Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs is made up of one Permanent Chairman — Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu — three vice chairmen, one acting vice chairman and 77 members – a total of 82 members. The vice chairmen are Akran of Badagry, De Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi I; Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi; Alara of Ilara, Oba A.O Adesanya; and Onigando of Igando, Oba Lasisi Gbadamosi.

Ambode further urged the re-constituted Council to justify the confidence reposed in them by using their wealth of experience to support the government in deepening democracy and bringing development to every part of our State.
