Akeredolu’s Son Stole Over N433m From Ondo State Secret Account – Deputy Gov Agboola Ajayi Alleges

Embattled Deputy Governor Of Ondo State Agboola Ajayi has on Saturday alleged that the son of Ondo State Governor Babajide Akeredolu made a whopping sum of N433m from the N4.3bn stashed away in a secret account of the Ondo State government.Akeredolu and Agboola Ajayi

Recall that KOKO TV reported about a controversial secret account where a sum of N4.3bn was kept for over 10 years, generating interest until it was uncovered in May 2020 during auditing of the state accounts.

Alfred Agboola Ajayi who is also in the running for the governorship of Ondo State ahead of the October 10 election, has alleged that a huge sum of money was siphoned by the governor’s son under the guise of “consultancy fees” even when he had not rendered any service to the state.

Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi made his allegation during a campaign of his new party ZLP after leaving APC, at Ore under Odigbo Local Government Area of the State, noting that the governor was running the state with his son, wife and extended family members only.Ondo

Agboola said during the campaign rally, “If you remembered the N4.3bn that was found in the state government account a few months back, I want to tell you that a few months back, I want to tell you that Akeredolu’s son (Babajide) siphoned the sum of N433m from it as consultancy fee and he didn’t even render any service.
“Tell me, do you want to continue with that type of Governor whose son and wife are in total control of the government? That is why we need to join hands together and boot them out of the office.
“What we now have under Akeredolu is the government of the father, wife, and son who are daily siphoning our money while our people are suffering”      

Agboola Ajayi who during his campaign promised he would reduce tuition of students in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko to N50,000, accusing Gov Akeredolu of commercialising education in Ondo State. He accused the APC government of suffering the citizens of Ondo state by increasing tuition fees from N30,000 to N150,000.
