Ondo Government has offered automatic employment to the first set of medical doctors that graduated from the state-owned University of Medical Sciences.
The doctors were the first to be trained in any Ondo- owned institution since the State was created in 1976.
The governorannounced the employment offer at a luncheon to celebrate the successful completion of medical training and examination by the pioneering medical students.
Akeredolu said the employment of the new doctors was his administration’s’s resolve to curb the dearth of medical personnel in the State.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Health, Professor. Francis Faduyile, the Governor noted that absorption of the new doctors would boost the health sector and increase needed manpower in the health sector.
He urged the beneficiaries to see the opportunity given to them as a rare privilege. He said his administration sustained the vision of the university against all odds and established the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, which is a necessary requirement for the training health personnel by the institution.
