The first lady of Nigeria Aisha Buhari as deactivated her official Twitter account following the suspension of the microblogging platform by the federal government. The first lady made the announcement via her Twitter page.
Aisha Buhari tweeted: “I will be deactivating my Twitter account for now. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” The federal government on Friday announced the suspension of the microblogging platform. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had accused Twitter of double standards citing the “persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence”.
