Aisha “Mama Taraba” Alhassan Wins UDP Taraba Governorship Ticket

Aisha Alhassan, Former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the United Development Party (UDP) for the 2019 election.
The former Minister, popularly called to as ‘Mama Taraba’, defected to UDP last Saturday, after her resignation from her ministerial position.
She took this action following her disqualification from contesting for the Taraba governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She had earlier contested for the gubernatorial election in 2015 under her former party, APC but lost to Darius Ishaku of the PDP.
