Mosunmola Abudu popularly called Mo Abudu is a household name because of her amazing performance in the media sector in Nigeria and Africa at large. Born on the 11th of September, 1964, to Nigerian parents from Ondo, the 54-years-old media personality, philanthropist, and former human resources management consultant is our Woman crush. The popular businesswoman with admirable business acumen was born in Hammersmith, West London where she attended the Ridgeway school, MidKent College and West Kent College. Starting out her life as a human resources consultant with Arthur Andersen where she headed the Human Resources and Training unit for Esso Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited, Abudu’s interest in the media drove her to start out as the Executive Producer and host of the television talk show she called ‘Moments with Mo’. On the show, the media entrepreneur covers a wide range of topics which includes lifestyle, health, culture, politics and entertainment. While doing that, she had a sit down with different celebrities on the show, ranging from Presidents, Nobel laureates and the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Riding on the success of this show which was shown in 49 countries across Africa on M-net, Abudu went ahead to carve a niche for herself in the, she created many more media magic which will end up being the talk of the world. She started the debaters which give a voice to African oratory and in 2013, she started the Ebony Life Tv. In 2014, Ebony life TV followed suit and she made her first film,’Fifty’ which was filmed at the London Film festival, Fifty was one of the blockbuster movies from Nigeria. She also teamed up with ELFIKE Collective to produce the highest grossing film in Nigeria, wedding party. Interested in giving back to the society, Abudu helped found the ‘The Inspire Africa Foundation’ where many children benefitted from the generosity of the mogul. First African woman to own a Pan-Africa TV channel, one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Global TV in 2013, Entrepreneur of the Year award by Women Werk in New York in 2014, Honourary Doctorate of Humane letters from Babcock university and recently the first African and Nigerian recipient of the Médailles d’Honneur awards held in France, there really is no stopping the Mo Abudu powerful tidal wave.
