Nigeria’s rising star, Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture has been featured by Italian Vogue the second time but this time around, he features alongside professional art photographer Lakin Ogunbawo. They graced the talent section of the magazine with an editorial called “In Plain Sight” where pieces from the Orange Culture were artistically displayed under the lenses of Lakin.According to the magazine, “Lakin creates enigmatic portraits with an erotic and subversive undertone while working at the confluence of fashion photography and classical portraiture. His subjects exist defiantly in the frame often masked by shadow, drapery and foliage. His use of vibrant flat colour and bold compositions form a more minimalist homage to the African studio photography popular in the 1960s and 70’s.”Oke-lawal, who is known for his contemporary take on men’s fashion, styled the shoot and also used the pieces of other Nigeria brands such as Adele Dejak for Orange Culture, Emmy Kasbit, Kelechi Odu, Maxivive, and Mezzi Leroy.Photo Credit: Vogue Italia
