Adamawa State Government has directed that all schools in the state should shut down operations today December 18, 2020, and go on an indefinite break, as a preventive measure against the recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the country, and the recent abduction of the Kankara Schoolboys.
The directive for the closure of all schools, was issued on both public and private schools operating within Adamawa State. The order was announced by Aisha Abubakar, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Education and Human Capital Development.
Although no reason was given to back the decision of the state government, the recent abduction of over over 600 boys from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State may have informed the decision of the state government to take all necessary precautions.
