“A Pity For Them” – Eden Hazard Speaks On Ronaldo And Messi’s World Cup Exit

Belgium playmaker, Eden Hazard says Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s World Cup exit is “good” for football world.

Ronaldo and Messi are no longer the stars at this year’s tournament after their respective teams, Portugal and Argentina confirmed their elimination in the last-16 stage on Saturday. Ronaldo scored 4 which include his hat-trick against Spain, while Messi’s only goal came when they faced Nigeria in last group game.

“It’s good for us, but a pity for them (Messi and Ronaldo,” Hazard explained in a pre-match interview ahead of Belgium’s last-16 game with Japan. “When you love football you want to see the best players.

“However, when you’re competing you want them to go out, so you have a better chance of success yourself.”
