Rafiki Director Has Signed A Big-Money Deal With Gotham Group

Wanuri Kahiu, the director of the viral Kenyan lesbian relationship movie, Rafiki, has attained another international height, as she successfully signed a deal with the Gotham Group.
Shortly after her thrilling movie made a historic debut at the Cannes film festival, the Los Angeles-based movie giants announced their new deal with Wanuri.

Speaking about the new deal, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, the founder of The Gotham Group, told news men that: “Wanuri Kahiu is a prodigiously talented and brilliant woman. As an advocate for Africans, especially young women, Wanuri has established herself as a major cultural force. That she refused to edit Rafiki in any way to avoid the Kenyan ban is a testament to Wanuri’s courage and commitment to her creative vision.”
