Stop Linking Us With Simon Ekpa’s Activities, IPOB Warns Journalists
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a warning to journalists to stop associating Simon Ekpa, a Finland-based Biafra agitator, with Nnamdi Kanu’s cause.

In a statement released on Thursday and circulated by IPOB’s media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, the secessionist group expressed its concern over the deliberate efforts of some media outlets to link Ekpa with the activities of IPOB and the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
IPOB clarified that Simon Ekpa is not a registered member of the organization or connected to the ESN. The group emphasized that he is acting on his own and warned media outlets to accurately represent this fact in their publications going forward.

The statement read, “We have observed with dismay the deliberate moves of some compromised media houses and social media platforms to attribute Simon Ekpa to the membership of the noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
For the purposes of clarity and emphasis, the said Simon Ekpa is not in any way a registered unit member of IPOB, nor is he connected to the Eastern Security Network (ESN).”
“It is therefore imperative that media houses are appropriately guided to reflect this reality in their publications, henceforth.”
