516 Illegal Immigrants Arrested With PVCs In Kaduna State

516 illegal immigrants have been arrested by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Kaduna State and had PVCs on them.

Recall that the independent national electoral commission, INEC moved to extend the collection of Permanent Voters Cards, PVC by one week.

According to the state comptroller, Liman Sani Kila, the illegal immigrants were from Niger Republic, Chad, Cameroon, Togo, and Senegal.

Liman Sani Kila, while parading the illegal immigrants at the command’s headquarters said those arrested were undergoing profiling and would be deported.

He explained that in the last year’s mop-up operations, more than 1,000 PVCs from illegal immigrants were arrested within Kaduna Zone.

In other news, the Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service said it intercepted N6m wraps of fake US dollars, enroute to the Benin Republic from Nigeria through the border.

The Customs Area Controller in charge of the command, Dera Nnadi, while addressing journalists at the command on Thursday, said the currency which is equivalent to N2.7bn was intercepted on Tuesday.
