Warri Kindgom, the respected Itsekiri speaking territory of Delta State is set to host the world for the coronation of the new Olu of Warri, Prince Tsola Emiko.
The kingdom had announced Prince Tsola Emiko as the next Olu of Warri a few weeks ago and his coronation date. When coronated, Prince Tsola will be the 21st Olu from a long dynasty that stretches back hundreds of years.
His selection is coming after the rites and tradition of the land, following his father’s death. The Warri Traditional Council of Chiefs had formally and publicly announced the passing onto eternal glory of His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, The 20th Olu of Warri to the solemn Assembly of The Itsekiri Nation on Monday 5 April, 2021 which has laid to rest months of controversy surrounding the death of the Warri Monarch.
