12,500 Youth Corpers Have Undergone COVID-19 Test – PTF

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu has announced that over 12,500 youths corpers out of the 66,000 prospective NYSC corps members for the 2020 Batch B Mobilisation, have undergone the COVID-19 test successfully.

Dr Sani Aliyu disclosed this during a briefing in Abuja, he reminded international graduates who would be returning to the country for the camping and national service exercise of the need to self-isolate for at least 7-days before going into any NYSC Orientation camp in the country also advised against non-essential international travels during the pandemic.

He said;

“We have commenced the process of testing corps members. In fact, we have already tested more than 12,5000 NYSC corpers members so far using Rapid Diagnostic Test Kit test with confirmatory PCR.

“We know that we are going into the Christmas period. The PTF is already looking at steps to minimise the surge in passengers’ numbers we see during this period.”
