Ekpoma Police Lawlessness: IGP Orders Erring Cop To Report To Force Headquarters, Abuja
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the policeman who ran a vehicle over a citizen at Ekpoma in Edo State, to report to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, for further action.

Egbetokun has ordered the unnamed erring cop to report specifically next Monday.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja.

KOKO TV NG recalls that the condemnable incident happened on Thursday, June 29.
However, the IGP has implored the people of Ekpoma to remain calm, as the present Nigeria Police leadership would not condone such an act of unprofessionalism and illegality.
In other news, The Police Service Commission has appointed CP Aderemi Olufemi Adeoye as the new Commissioner of Police for Anambra State.

Following the appointment, CP Adeoye would be replacing the immediate-past Commissioner of Police in Anambra, CP Echeng Echeng, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police and redeployed to Zone 9, Umuahia.
This was disclosed in a statement issued to journalists in Awka on Friday by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Police Service Commission, Ikechukwu Ani.
