Tijani has described the postcode as one of the major digital infrastructure projects the government intends to deliver, alongside Project BRIDGE, NUCAP, communications satellites and Nigeria’s Web Design Standards.

Federal Government has already described the system as a critical component of Nigeria’s digital public infrastructure, with applications extending to emergency response, national security, logistics, e-commerce, public services and planning.

NIPOST says the platform is GIS-enabled and will provide a precise digital address for every building covered by the system.
