Nigerian Embassy In The US Lays 15 Workers Off

 15 local workers with the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, DC, has been sacked. The news was confirmed by senior officials at the embassy confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria. The officials added that the sacked workers will receive their benefits soon.   The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, according to reports approved the sack of the workers due to some ongoing rationalization of workers at the embassy adding that workers gratuities will be paid soon. However, some of the laid-off workers claim the embassy has no plans of paying their gratuity and other severance benefits, adding that the embassy retained non-Nigerians to work, laying off it’s own people.  Photo Credit: Getty
