5 Things To Do During The Coronavirus Lockdown

With the current continuing rise in the number of the confirmed case of Coronavirus, across the globe and in Nigeria, about 225,484 cases, 130,376 currently infected persons around the world and 9,277 deaths so far, the WHO has declared it a ‘global emergency’. Unfortunately, there is yet to be a vaccine that can cure infected persons. In Nigeria, there are 12 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with a possible 1,300 other persons who are currently being tracked and monitored. Social distancing and staying indoor has been advised as much as constant washing of the hand and regular use of hand-sanitizers and avoid making contacts with openings on your body if you noticed you just touch a person who seems to have the symptoms of the virus. But staying at home and practising social distancing can get boring, no more clubbing, no partying, no more mogbo moya, ah! that’s serious. Coronavirus Lockdown Things To Do

Well, there are a few other things you could during such time though, they could prove to be quite fun activities too.

  1. Movies: It’s the weekend and there are no EPL games, no sporting activities going on, the cinemas are shut down, no clubbing all that you can do is to stay at home, just go online and download as many movies as your data can allow. There are a couple of new series that are quite interesting and funny on ABC, CBS to watch Like Bob Hearts Abisola, Young Sheldon, Your Excellency, Bads Boys For Life III.
  2. Youtube/Netflix Series: Come on just make Youtube and Netflix your friend, stay at home and chill, remember its stay at “Home and Chill ooo”, not “Netflix and Chill”. As long as your fridge and kitchen is well stocked up, enough fuel in your generator. There are loads of online tutorials you can use this time to catch up on, while on Netflix there’s an overdose of Naija movies you just can’t exhaust that’s for certain, from Elevator baby to Seven, King of Boys so just stay at home and Netflix away.
  3. Play Board Games: Ludo, Scrabble, Monopoly, Snake and Ladder, Chess and other board games can be learned this period. If you’ve never had the time or the patience to learn them, now is your chance. Although this cannot be played alone, you can play these games with your family members – who are not infected by the virus. You can also play these games on your phone. Send a request to your friends (and family) to join you online.
  4. Novel: A lot of us are guilty of picking up a novel and dropping it halfway because we barely have enough time to finish it. But now you are all alone at home you can make a list of novels to read till this pandemic is over. This way you get to be more serious and before you know, you would have read like 5 to 10 novels.
  5. And Finally, Sleep a lot: Well this would be quite a personal favourite quite a number of people especially, those who were not big on outdoor activities they would rather just sleep all day and do next to nothing, well this type of sleep isn’t actually directed at that though it is more at using this time to get enough sleep especially for those whose job and distance of the workplace makes them get little sleep having to leave home really early and get back home really late, now is the time to get those lost sleeping hours back-in.
