42 Men Arrested By Police For ‘Homosexual Acts’ In Lagos

The Nigeria Police in Lagos have arrested 42 men for alleged acts of homosexuality at the weekend. The men were detained at a hotel in Lagos’ Owode Onirin area, according to a police spokesman.Olarinde Famous-Cole added that the hotel had been “cordoned off while the investigation is carried out”. Homosexual acts are punishable by up to 14 years in jail in Nigeria, while gay marriage and displays of same-sex affection are also banned.Photo Credit: Getty
