Paternity fraud has become a major issue in Nigeria most recently, though paternity fraud is not particularly in new phenomena. However, it has become a subject of major concern, with the topic always finding its way to discussions most especially on social media.

With a lot of the recent calling out of some Nigerian celebrities, or thereabout their involvement in paternity fraud be it from the enduring side or be it be the woman. We have considered highlighting some of them these celebrities who are caught up in the paternity issues;
- Nedu Wazobia: The comedian, OAP, and actor, are the most recent to go public about him being caught up in the paternity fraud web. He posts on his Instagram page the DNA test result of the first child of his marriage with his wife Uzoamaka Ohiri. Nedu revealed that his first son is actually not his first son, but rather another man’s son that his wife brought into his home. The entire issue became public after Uzoamaka had accused Nedu of domestic violence and of taking care of his children, and refused to pay her house rent. And that Nedu shouldn’t be allowed to speak on marital shows on radio. And so the cascades of secrets started hitting the fan.
- Ronke Odusanya: Another popular paternity fraud scandal in the Nigerian entertainment industry is that of the Yoruba actress, Ronke Odusanya aka Flakky, and her baby daddy Olanrewaju Saheed aka Don Jago. Saheed sued his celebrity baby mama to court on grounds of paternity fraud was able to get a court order from the Lagos State Magistrate court to have a DNA test done on the little girl in question to confirm if really the child is his.
Though the court order was given on February 12th. The result of the DNA test is still unknown to the public, that if the test has actually been carried out.
Ronke Odusanya is accused of financially wrecking her baby daddy, Saheed.
She however came out to debunk the claims.

- Pretty Mike:
Another public figure who has come out to talk about paternity fraud is the popular Lagos socialite and club owner, Mike Eze-Nwalie Nwogu, aka Pretty Mike. He told a story of an 8-years-old of how a particular lady he had partial unprotected sex with after they met at a club pinned a pregnancy on him. Though he said he refused at first after a friend of his intervened he accepted and 9-months on, Amaka the name of the lady had a beautiful little princess that melted his heart and he forgot the idea of having a DNA test done on the child which he had previously planned to do before. However, yes down the line as the child continued to grow older she kept looking nothing like him and just a couple of years back he finally decides to take the DNA test on the child only to find out that the child is truly not his as suspected.
- Tope Alabi:
In November, fans of gospel singer, Tope Alabi, were shocked when a certain Mayegun Olaoye claimed that he is the biological father of the singer’s daughter, Ayomiku. The controversy was totally unexpected. While the singer and her husband, Soji, failed to respond to the claims, her 22-year-old daughter confirmed the reports. She said that she was aware that Olaoye is her biological father but she does not reckon with him as the only father that she knows is Soji Alabi.
