Four construction workers have been recovered dead from a building that collapsed in the Badagry area of Lagos State on Wednesday, on the 17th of November 17, 2021.

The storey building, located at Flour Mills Estate, Magbon Bus Stop, was under construction and trapped nine construction workers, all men, at the site. Five of them were rescued and taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but four were recovered dead from under the rubble.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) demolished the building and cordoned it off. Recall yesterday the collapse of the building came as a piece of shocking news as it follows hot on the heel of the Ikoyi building collapse.

The residents of Lagos call out to the governor of the state to put in more effort to ensure that people who are building one-storey buildings or the other follow the due procedure and take the necessary steps to avoid these collapses.
