362 Ghost Workers Earning N20m Discovered In Ekiti State

The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development in Ekiti State, Professor Adio Folayan, disclosed this on Tuesday, November 3, when he presented his report of the verification committee set up by the Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Prof Adio Folayan told the state government that it was losing roughly N20m monthly to ghost workers who work mainly at the local government areas of the state. He, however, added that the state’s Accountant-General had been instructed to stop paying the salaries of the ghost workers.Ekiti

According to him, the ghost workers would be prosecuted for fraud with their accomplices, noting that all heads of department have been directed to enforce discipline.

Governor Fayemi promised quick implementation of all the recommendations of the committee.
