If one thinks rape is peculiar to a region alone then one must be mistaken as cases have sprout in almost all the states in Nigeria, the recent being of a 3 months old baby.
The minor was reportedly raped by an unknown person in Adogi, Nasarawa State on Wednesday 27th May.
Recounting the experience, the mother Maimuna noted that she had left the door and window open due to excess heat. She, however, woke up at about 3am to find the baby missing by her side. She noted that she raised an alarm and neighbours helped to embark on a search and found her abandoned in a classroom of a nearby school left for dead after being raped. “The incident occurred on Wednesday 27 of last month when suddenly I woke up around 3am and found that my baby was missing“, Daily Trust reported Maimuna said. The minor has been hospitalized at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
