Security Forces in Lagos state swung to action this morning when a boat carrying 21 passengers capsized under third mainland bridge leaving one person dead. The Nigerian police force responded immediately to the scene after a distress call was made by an eye witness.
After the Lagos state police command deployed at least 7 boats and one helicopter to the scene, 19 people were rescued from the accident which claimed the life of one passenger. The driver is still at large while the body of the dead passenger was deposited in a mortuary. The Conductor on the other-hand is now in police custody and the boat has been towed to the Lagos state marine police yard.
