Former chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Ahmed Makarfi has urged the candidate of the Labour party Peter Obi to swallow his pride and return to the party.
The former Kaduna state governor reached out to Peter Obi during an interview with journalists on the state of the nation and the 2023 general election.

Makarfi also called on the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to jettison his ambition of becoming Nigeria’s president and return to PDP.
Makarfi stated that:
Nigerian politics is a bit funny especially politics of the opposition. Before APC captured power, the opposition came together but unfortunately, we have a situation in Nigeria where the opposition wakes up and everyone tries to capture power.

Furthermore, Ahmed Makarfi urged the leaders of the PDP to do what APC did in 2018 by dropping their ambition and rally around one person in the party. He also stressed the fact that the party might not be able to defeat the APC with a divided house.
