2019 Presidential Election: Meet Presidential Aspirant, Atiku Abubakar

Born on 25 November 1946, Atiku Abubakar is a business tycoon and a politician, in 1998 he was elected the governor of Adamawa State and became the Vice President of Nigeria in 1999. Atiku started a real estate business as far back as 1974 while working as a customs officer. Based on reports Atiku’s wealth comes from his partnership with an Italian man to set up a Nigeria Container Services (NICOTES) and this has been the base of the controversy surrounding his involvement in corruption. Atiku has contested for the Presidency twice losing to Yar’ Adua and secondly losing to Muhammadu Buhari at the APC primaries. Abubakar is a co-founder of Intels, an oil servicing business with extensive operations in Nigeria and abroad.
