2017 Africa Movie Academy Awards: View Full List Of Nominees

The jury is out and the best African movie vying for honours this year at the 2017 Africa Movie Academy Awards has been unveiled. The nominees list was released today in preparation for the awards ceremony that will be held 20th of this month.Vaya, a South African movie directed by Nigerian Akin Omotoso, tops the nominees list with 10 nominations. It is followed by historical Nigerian drama, ’76 with eight nominations. Ugandan movie about local chess champions, Queen of Katwe which stars Lupita Nyong’o, was also nominated in eight categories. 93 Days, a movie about the 2014 Ebola crisis in Nigeria, earned seven nominations. Oloibiri was also nominated in seven categories while action flick Slow Country got four. See the full list below.Best Short Film Category
