More Than 200,000 Students Were Caught Cheating During Last WASSCE

According to the West African Examination Council, WAEC, 214,952 candidates cheated in the May-June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and their results have consequently been seized by the authorities. The council is still investigating the exam cheats and the schools of the students would be duly informed soon.On a better note, there was a seven percent improvement in the number of candidates that passed the examination with five credits out of the 1,559,662 candidates that sat for the examination. 923,486 of the 1,559,162 candidates that sat for the examination, obtained a minimum of credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.Photo Credit: Getty
