Two female corps members were crushed to death by a trailer on their way to the secretariat for their final clearance in Bayelsa State
On Monday, two female corps members were killed in a motor accident that involved a tricycle and a trailer. According to reports, about four Batch A stream 2 corp members were on their way to the secretariat for the final clearance when this incident occurred along Swali market bridge in Yenogoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa. The impact of the incident took the lives of 2 female corps, while their other colleagues were seriously injured.
The Bayelsa State sector commissioner of the Federal Road Safety Corps; Mr Ikechukwu Igwe confirmed the incident, stating that the other two sustained injuries, and are presently at the Federal Medical centre Yenogoa. the State coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Bayelsa has described the incident as “unfortunate”.
The corps members were on their way to fulfil the requirements of their P.O.P(passing out parade) slated for Thursday when this sad event occurred.
