15 Chinese Doctors Arrive In Nigeria, Despite Huge Protest

A team of 15 Chinese doctors and medical practitioners have arrived in Nigeria from China landing at the Nnamdi Azikwe, International Airport, Abuja. Chinese Doctors

The 15-member team were flown into the country by aircraft owned and operated by Air Peace. The medical personnel, who landed at about 5:15 pm were received by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian; Executive Director, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, Mr Jacques Liao as well as senior officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health amongst others.

This is coming after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) rejected plans by the Federal Government to invite the Chinese medical team to help Nigeria in her fight against the deadly Coronavirus.

NMA President, Francis Faduyile had described the move as a “misplaced priority and a thing of embarrassment to the membership of the Association and other health workers, who are giving their best in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic under deplorable working conditions.”
