Arguably the biggest football club in the world Barcelona on Sunday night March 8 2021, announced the second coming of its most successful President ever Joan Laporta. He is going to be the man at the helms of affairs at the Catalan side for the next six years. 
Just before he takes over and starts his second reign at the club here is a brief breakdown of his success at the club and some of his most successful and biggest transfers at the club;
Background
Joan Laporta is a Barcelona native. He graduated from the University of Barcelona with a degree in law, later establishing his own firm, Laporta & Arbos. He was also a member of the Catalan Parliament between 2010 and 2012.

Laporta served as Barcelona’s president between 2003 and 2010, having succeeded Enric Reyna. He inherited a club in crisis but eventually managed to turn the situation around, both in terms of sporting achievement and finances.
First Term
During his spell at the club, the president brought Barca back to greatness. Blaugrana hadn’t won a single title since 1999, and after a six-year-long dry spell, the Catalans won the 2004-05 La Liga, their first trophy under Laporta.

Eventually, the club would win 12 trophies, including two Champions League trophies. Besides, the legendary golden generation at Camp Nou was possible in big part due to Laporta. The president made the unpopular decision of appointing then-Barca B coach Pep Guardiola ahead of board-backed Jose Mourinho.
