113 Health Workers Have Tested Positive To Coronavirus – Health Minister

The Minister of Health Ehanire Osagie has disclosed that the 113 health workers have tested positive to Coronavirus as they are at the forefront of the battle.
Osagie disclosed this while responding to a series of questions at the daily COVID-19 Presidential Task Force briefing yesterday.113 Health Workers Have Tested Positive To Coronavirus - Health Minister
The Minister noted that the 113 workers represent about 6 per cent of the total 1,728 infected persons in Nigeria and majority of them are of private hospitals. He then noted that the high risk of them getting infected with the virus is the reason private hospitals are not allowed to treat COVID-19 patients.

Latest figures we have is that there are about 113 people in the health sector infected with COVID-19. Although they are not all public health workers, there are good numbers from private hospitals. If you hear us speaking here frequently against trying to treat coronavirus in private clinics, we are actually referring to those people who do so without having necessary precautions and training because they risk infecting themselves and go home and give this infection to their family.
