An 11-year-old maid has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for the murder of a 5-year old put in her care. According to reports, the maid who stayed with the child’s family at Okoloko street, Abule-Ado Shoba, Lagos state, was told to care for the child and his younger brother aged between 2 and 3. A source who spoke with LIB said the maid identified as Ojiugo Ifechukwu Duru strangled the child whose name was given as Chikamso after the kids mother left them in her care to go to her place of business.
Shortly after the mother left for her place of business, she was called to return home as her maid had killed her first child. Speaking with LIB, the mother said; 
“It’s just that my house girl strangled my son, my first issue. The lady who is pregnant with her third child said her maid has been arrested. “For now, it’s not in my hand. She’s in custody already. For now my husband is taking care of things. It’s now government case and not mine, so it’s not in my hands to decide what will happen and what will not happen.” The child’s father who resides in S.A has since returned upon being told what happened. On what could be the maid’s motive for murdering her child, the child’s mother replied; “No just reason, just that she’s angry. That was just it.” A source who spoke with LIB recounted what happened on March 10, 2018, the day Chikamso was killed. The source said Ojiugo beat Chikamso then tried strangling the child but he survived. she then proceeded to stab his penis with a curtain hook whih eventually led to the death of the child. Not satisfied, Ojuigo turned on the younger brother and started to beat him before the toddler ran to a neighbours house to report what had happened. On getting to the neighbour’s the child refused to let go until the neighbour went to their house and found his brother dead. The neighbour began to beat the maid who showed no remorse nor cried before calling the children’s mother to return home immediately.
