10 Amazing Do’s And Dont’s Of Pregnancy That Every Expecting Mother Should Know

Pregnancy is such a great news, and once it’s confirmed you definitely start counting< down to meeting your bundle joy. But carrying your fetus to term comes with so many other responsibilities including knowing what and what not to do during your gesticulation period, below are ten amazing tips to help keep you and your baby safe.

  1. Do take more of Folic Acid and Multivitamins: Apparently, the change in your hormones brings about the need to always boost your energy so as to keep your baby and yourself strong and healthy. So if you have not been taking Folic acid before conceiving ensure you start taking it once your pregnancy is confirmed.   
  2. Don’t sit in a hot tub: Sitting in hot tubs are generally not hygienic for a pregnant woman, because the body is usually prone to diseases and infections which can easily penetrate into the body, using it may double the chances of having a miscarriage.  
  3. Do get lots of sleep: It varies in pregnant women, some get the much-desired rest, while some become so restless that they find it hard to get adequate and enough rest, but whatever your symptoms might ensure you get the needed rest.            
  4. Don’t drink alcohol or smoke: Alcohol and Cigarettes usually have terrible effects on your baby’s growth, so its advisable you don’t take it all.   
  5. Do stay active by working out and doing yoga: Having workout sessions and doing yoga is highly recommended while expecting, it gives you the natural strength and the Vitality you need.
  6. Don’t eat raw meat: Raw meat and other uncooked meals carry risks of foodborne diseases and food poisoning, so it’s advised that a pregnant woman should eat more of cooked meat and well-cooked meals at all times.
  7. Do eat more SeaFood: Seafood is known to be highly nutritious and proteinous, they contain virtually all the protein an expecting mother needs for herself and her baby, so ensure you eat more of Mackerel, Shrimps, Crabs and other kinds of seafood.  
  8. Don’t drink or take highly caffeinated products: Caffeine has the ability to travel down to your placenta and it can affect your baby’s heartbeat rate, and that can be quite dangerous for the baby’s wellbeing.     
  9. Don’t diet during pregnancy, just gain reasonable weight: Dieting during pregnancy can be quite risky for your fetus because your they totally depend on you for all the strength they can get and you can’t possibly do that while on a diet!
  10. Do ensure you get a flu shot: A pregnant should get a flu shot regularly to protect herself and the fetus from airborne infections which can be very dangerous to their health.
